Is Cold Calling Over?

I was having breakfast: 1/2 cup of cereal based on Fiber, protein and no sugar, you know, to keep myself fit and cool. At the same time I was reading the sales Caffeine newsletter in my inbox from Jeffrey Gitomer a well-known sales speaker. He was pointing out that cold calling in the sales world is over and it is a waste of time. I think that I agree on his statement, and as addition I would say it is an attempt against the sales productivity and efficiency; however there will be defenders of that tactic, but being honest is not effective any more.

Marketers that rock use all the media and techologies available to build relationships with their customers and with colleages and employees. That is the way to go, to keep a high level of service to current customers, opening new borders into new markets and developing businesses creatively and without fear.
